The Jules François Medal is awarded every four years. Contrary to the
price, reserved for people under the age of 40, it is dedicated to
honour a whole career in service of Ophthalmology. The laureate is
chosen by the International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO) the year
before the Medal is given at the World Congress of Ophthalmology.
The laureate is invited to hold the Jules François Memorial Lecture at
Ophthalmologia Belgica (OB), the yearly congress of the Belgian
Ophthalmologic Societies, the year of the election by the ICO.
