Every four years (in the past every 3 years) a Jules François Prize is donated to a young scientist.
The aim of the Jules François Prize is to encourage scientific research in ophthalmology. The price of 10.000 EUR is awarded to a promising scientist who has made an important contribution to ophthalmology.
All topics in the field of fundamental and/or clinical research in ophthalmology are considered.
Applications should be sent jointly with a curriculum vitae, the list of all publications and three copies of the candidates' ten most relevant publications.
The candidate should not be older than forty years by December 31 of the year preceding the Prize (see advertisement of the Prize next page). The jury is composed by the Administrative Board of the Foundation supplemented by at least two members of a foreign country with high international reputation.
The winner of the Prize is invited to give a keynote lecture in plenary session during Ophthalmologia Belgica (OB), the yearly congress of the Belgian Ophthalmologic Societies.
