Rules

The aim of the Jules François Foundation is to encourage the development of the ophthalmologic scientific research in Belgium and abroad.

The Foundation is without philosophical or political opinions and is not influenced by the religious belief, opinions or native language of the research workers, nor by the scientific institution for which they work.

The Administrative Board of the Jules François Foundation is composed by the heads of the ophthalmologic departments of all the belgian universities, two members of the staff of the university of Ghent, two non-universitary ophthalmologists of the flemish and two of the french speaking part of Belgium and finally members of the supporting societies and companies.

The Foundation has three main activities:
1. The support of the Jules François Library.
2. The Jules François Price.
3. The Jules François Medal and Memorial Lecture.
