Title	Clinical outcomes following a switch of therapy to Faricimab in patients affected by macular edema secondary to retinal vein occlusion

Purpose	To evaluate clinical outcomes following a therapeutic switch to Faricimab in patients affected by macular edema secondary to retinal vein occlusion showing insufficient response to prior anti-VEGF therapy.
Methods	A retrospective analysis was conducted on patients with persistent macular edema under previous anti-VEGF treatment who were switched to Faricimab between September 2024 and April 2025. As functional measure visual acuity (LogMAR) was collected, while regarding anatomical changes central retinal thickness (CRT) and central retinal volume (CRV) were evaluated.
Results	A total of 22 eyes from 21 patients (mean age: 69.2 ± 11.6 years; 54.5% female) were included. Prior to the switch of therapy, patients had been treated for on average 5.7 ± 3.3 years meanwhile having received a mean of 34 ± 25 prior intravitreal injections. After the switch to Faricimab, visual acuity remained stable (p = 0.14), while significant anatomical improvements were observed in CRT (p = 0.045) and CRV (p = 0.023). Baseline LogMAR was significantly correlated with post-switch LogMAR (correlation coefficient: 0.856, p < 0.001).
Conclusion	Switching to Faricimab resulted in anatomical improvements while maintaining a stable visual function. Further, baseline LogMAR was a strong predictor of visual function following the therapeutic switch.
