Titre	Dexmedetomidine by hypertensive Patients for cataract surgery

But	Dexmedetomidine has recently gained attention for its use in sedation across various procedures, including cataract surgery. It can be one of the good options.
Méthodes	A literature review of published studies to assess the effectiveness of Dexmedetomidine in hypertensive patients undergoing cataract surgery.
Résultats	Hypotension, with or without bradycardia, has been reported after dexmedetomidine bolus doses of 0.5–1.0 mcg/kg, regardless of whether a continuous infusion was administered. While its use has been linked with longer PACU discharge times, no significant connection to deeper intraoperative sedation was found. Dexmedetomidine also commonly resulted in better pain relief, higher patient satisfaction, and lower intraocular pressure (IOP).
Conclusion	This review shows that dexmedetomidine provides better pain relief, higher patient satisfaction, and reduced intraocular pressure in outpatient cataract surgery compared to traditional sedatives and opioids. However, its use comes with risks such as cardiovascular depression and longer recovery times, so its suitability should be assessed for each patient individually. Further research is needed to enhance these findings.
