TitreTreatment of Metastatic Uveal Melanoma
ButDescription of the various treatments and follow-up of metastatic uveal melanoma patients. Assesment whether the introduction of immune checkpoint inhibitors improved survival.
Méthodesretrospective single-center study.
Résultats121 metastatic uveal melanoma patients were registered. No significant improvement of the survival could be established after the introduction of immune checkpoint inhibitors. Only liver-directed and local oligometastatic approaches were associated with a lower chance of mortality when compared tot immune checkpoint inhibitors (p=0.0025).
ConclusionAlthough we documented responses tot immune checkpoint inhibitors, our analyses do not demonstrate an overall survival improvement of checkpoint inhibitors over alternative treatment strategies. However, local treatment options, whether liver-directed or for oligometastatic disease, may be beneficial and should be considerd.
