TitreSerous Retinal Detachment Secondary to Choroidal Osteoma Successfully Treated with Transpupillary Thermotherapy
Abstract Nr.P009
ButWe report a case of serous retinal detachment associated with choroidal osteoma successfully treated with transpupillary thermotherapy.
MéthodesCase report.
RésultatsA 21 year-old woman presented with blurred vision of her right eye of one month duration. Visual acuity was 20/50 in the right eye and 20/20 in the left eye. Fundus examination of the right eye revealed a suprapapillary choroidal osteoma associated with serous retinal detachment extending to the macula without features of choroidal neovascularization. Transpupillary thermotherapy was applied to the inferior margin of the choroidal osteoma. Serous retinal detachment resolved and visual acuity improved from 20/50 to 20/25.
ConclusionTranspupillary thermotherapy may be useful in treating serous retinal detachment complicating choroidal osteoma.
