Titel	Enhancing Cataract Surgery Support with a Multilingual, AI-Based Chatbot: Verified Responses for Improved Patient Understanding

Doel	The study aims to assess the effectiveness of a multilingual AI-based chatbot in enhancing patient understanding, reducing anxiety, and improving satisfaction among cataract surgery patients. A key feature of the chatbot is its ability to provide answers in multiple languages, with all responses pre-verified by the principal investigator to ensure accuracy ad reliability.
Methodes	This study will employ a randomized controlled trial design involving 70 patients scheduled for elective cataract surgery. Participants will be randomly assigned to either an intervention group with full access to an AI-based chatbot or a control group receiving standard pre-operative information. The chatbot, capable of interacting in multiple languages, will deliver pre-verified information on cataract surgery and post-operative care. Data will be collected through patient surveys assessing knowledge, anxiety, and satisfaction, alongside metrics on chatbot engagement and usability.
Resultaten	The study will analyze the impact of the chatbot on patient outcomes by comparing knowledge gains, anxiety reduction, and satisfaction levels between the intervention and control groups. The accuracy and user satisfaction with the chatbot's multilingual responses will be specifically highlighted.
Conclusie	This study expects to demonstrate that a multilingual, AI-based chatbot, with responses pre-verified by the principal investigator, can significantly improve patient understanding and satisfaction in cataract surgery care, potentially setting a new standard for digital health interventions in ophthalmology.
