Titel | Overall Visual Outcomes from a Real-World Study of Presbyopia-Correcting IOLs in a Large Population |
Doel | To present real-world visual and patient-reported outcomes in a large cohort of patients bilaterally implanted with the AcrySof IQ Vivity presbyopia-correcting IOL |
Methodes | Multicenter, ambispective registry study conducted in Europe, Australia and New Zealand. This cohort includes 4% post-corneal refractive surgery subjects and 28% with associated ocular comorbidities. At 3-6 months post-op, subjects bilaterally implanted underwent visual performance assessments. Patient satisfaction and spectacle independence were assessed with validated questionnaires. Patient reports of visual disturbance were also assessed |
Resultaten | 910 subjects were available for analysis. The mean age was 67.1 ± 9.3 years. Binocular mean UCDVA was 0.01 ± 0.10 logMAR, UCIVA was 0.08 ± 0.12 logMAR, and UCNVA was 0.25 ± 0.15 logMAR. Mean MRSE (first eye) was -0.19 ± 0.39 D (23.7% had mini-monovision). Most subjects (91.4%) reported being satisfied with their vision. The percentage of subjects reporting never/rarely needing to wear glasses to see up close was 60.2%, at arm’s length 89.2%, and far away 93.4%. The percentage of subjects reporting “none” for seeing halos was 91.5%, for glare 91.6%, and for starbursts 94.6% |
Conclusie | In this real-world study in a diverse large population of subjects bilaterally implanted with the AcrySof IQ Vivity IOL, we have demonstrated excellent distance (20/20), intermediate (~20/25), and functional near (~20/32) visual acuity. In general, subjects reported high visual satisfaction with little or no difficulty in performing daily activities and very little visual disturbances. |
