Doelto correct presbyopia in hyperopic eyes bij LASEK

MethodesLASEK was performed with the broad beam Gaussian Excimer Laser of InPro on 20 eyes of 10 patients. 12 ablation zones of 3.5mm diameter were performed around a central ablation free zone of 3mm.
For the four inferior ablation zones, 2 diopters were added.
ResultatenMean age was 50.2 year (range 44-59). Mean preoperative refraction was +2.9D±1.3D.
Post operative uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA) was 0.9 (range 0.7-1.0). All patients could read Parinaud 2.40% of the cases could read Parinaud 1.
ConclusieAdding a supplementary excentric ablation of 2 diopters in the inferior quadrant gives a good presbyopic correction. No side effects such as monocular diplopia were noticed.
