Title | One Year Femtosecond Laser Assisted Cataract Surgery? Was it worthwhile to change ? |
Abstract Nr. | 2031 |
Purpose | We started performing Femtosecond laser assisted cataract surgery in december 2015, in this presentation 450 surgeries are reviewed |
Methods | The LenSx laser (Alcon) and the Centurion system ( Alcon) were used to perform the surgery. Comparison is made between femtosecond laser assisted cataract surgery and conventional phaco cataract surgery, considering total phaco power, residual astigmatism, target refraction and centration of the IOL |
Results | Flacs results in general in less total phaco power, less residual astigmatism, better refractive outcomes. |
Conclusion | the author explains the learning curve of this new technique, the advantages, the pitfalls, the complications in order to give an answer to the question, is it worthwhile to change to Flacs ? |
