Title | Higher accuracy in astigmatic laser treatment with iris recognition |
Abstract Nr. | A2028 |
Purpose | Between November 03 and 15 June 04 we treated 450 eyes with the new Zyoptix 100 laser with the irisrecognition system. In this group 150 eyes with moderate and severe astigmatism were followed. |
Methods | All eyes were preoperatively measured by the same assistant with the Zyoptix workstation. In all patients the refractive error measured by the Zywave aberometer was used as the final treatment, without making any adjustment from the subjective refraction. |
Results | In this study we followed the high and moderate astigmatic eyes and the results in this group were very promising. The enhancement rate in this group was less then 3 % which seems to be extremely low. |
Conclusion | The iris recognition eye tracker avoids torsional misalignment and improves the clinical results in astigmatic laser treatment |
